Linda Wells, Editor in Chief of Allure Magazine was on the Today Show Tuesday morning to discuss the Best of Beauty winners from their October issue. L’Oreal Professionnel INOA was featured as their choice for best color line! Out of 14,000 new beauty and grooming products introduced this year, INOA was one of 232 winners for the issue, and only one in a handful for the Today Show. MFS loves INOA! Bobby Flay’s Tucson Throwdown to air August 11!

In May the famous New York Chef, Bobby Flay came to Tucson to film an episode of his hit TV show “Throw-Down”. He went up against our good friends, Teresa and David Matias, of Teresa’s Mosaic Cafe! The contest was over Huevos Rancheros! Yummm!! Mauricio, Violetta, and I were invited by the Matias family to attend both days of taping. Moda Provocateur…and All That Jazz!

Sunday Night was the Moda Provacateur show benefiting the Southern Arizona Aids Foundation. Over 600 people attended at the Uof A – It was a great success! Our segment was an ode to “Chicago” and “All That Jazz” - it was HOT! Thank you to the U of A Dance Troupe, our “Flappers” – they were fantastic! Traditional Permanent Haircolor was the standard BEFORE ODS:
How traditional permanent haircolor with ammonia works: Ammonia ensures the penetration of colorants into the hair for a perfect color result – ammonia swells (blows open) the hair to allow colorants & oxidant to penetrate the cortex. However, this mixture is water based, therefore some colorants stay outside of the hair fiber and never get colored. The mixture inside the hair cortex will begin to react and oxidize with the oxidant, thus creating two effects: 1. lightens hair pigments 2. transforms colorants into color.
However, there is another alkaline agent that is used in semi-permanent color called MEA. MEA opens the hair with minimal impact (compared to Ammonia). It is usually not enough for colorants to penetrate the hair fiber, especially when colorants are in the water base on the outside of the hair. For this reason, Permanent color with MEA alone do not pigment hair efficiently.
Introducing ODS – Oil Delivery System Technology – THE HAIRCOLOR OF THE FUTURE!
ODS – Oil based system boosts the action of MEA and alkaline agents during the coloring process, ODS is based on two major features: 1. High concentration of oils 2. Elimination of ammonia!! Here’s how:
Oil in the ODS system coats the hair fiber. MEA opens the hair lightly (with little change in the structure) as the colorants and the oxidant are pushed deeper into the hair by the oil. Colorants & Alkaline agents are water based, so they are repelled by the oil and the active ingredients move inside the hair.
Coupled with the ODS system, MEA becomes highly efficient in ensuring the penetration of all colorants into the hair cortex. The mixture inside the cortex will begin to react and oxidize alkaline agents creating two effects: 1. Lightens the hair pigments. 2. Transforms colorants into color.
